Apprenticeship Opportunity
QUALIFICATIONS:

Exempt: No
Hours: Dependent Upon Needs/Project (additional hours as needed)

Wage Base: Apprentice Wage Progression
Supervisor: Project Manager

The ideal candidate will be: 18 years of age; have graduated from high school or have a GED certificate; provide proof of current driver's license and record; show the basic aptitudes essential for acquiring the skills and proficiency of the trade; must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation.
 

TERM OF APPRENTICESHIP:

The term of apprenticeship shall be a period of reasonably continuous employment and training on the job, supplemented by the required hours of related instruction. The term for this occupation is no less than eight thousand (8000) hours and four (4) years.

The first two thousand (2000) hours of employment for the apprentice shall be a probationary period.
 

WORK EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

During the apprenticeship, the Apprentice shall receive on-the-job learning and related instruction in all phases of the trade as are necessary to develop a practical, skilled worker versed in the theory and practices of the trade. The Apprentice will perform other such duties as required and directed by the supervisor.
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The electrical apprentice will install, alter, add, and/or repair electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment while under the supervision of a journeyman electrician.
 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate will have a firm commitment to the company; be organized and flexible; be able to work independently; be able to stay calm and professional; be able to develop working relationships with company personnel, co-workers, clients, and a variety of individuals and agencies; be willing to work outside the daily hours as needed and scheduled; be able to carry and/or push/pull 50 lbs. repeatedly; be willing to travel away from home and for extended periods.
Fire and Security Alarm Systems Installer
Frontier Electric is hiring an entry level technician for the position of Fire and Security Alarm Systems Installer. We are currently seeking reliable, high-performing individuals who are committed to continuing their education and will become an integral member of the Frontier Electric team of professionals.
 

Typical Duties Will Involve:

  • Installing, maintaining, or repairing security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment, following blueprints of the electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Mounting and fastening control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attaching electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
  • Feeding cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; positioning and terminating cables, wires and strapping.
  • Drilling holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors.
  • Other duties will be assigned as required and necessary

  • Demonstrated reliability (off-hours may be required)
  • Demonstrated SAFETY awareness

Licensed Journeyman Electrician
Frontier Electric is hiring a licensed Journeyman Electrician for the Havre Waste Water Treatment Plant project. This project is expected to begin April, 2015 and continue for approximately 12 – 16 months. The ideal candidate will have:
 
  • The ability to perform electrical services across a broad range of systems
  • Work in industrial facilities
  • Have the ability to troubleshoot and solve on-site problems
  • The ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
  • Have working knowledge of current electrical standards and regulations
  • Have good organizational skills, be committed and work independently
